Wage war and run global matchups Fantasy Brawls style. I've built each country that enters the arena with a stat line constructed using population depth, active military muscle, reserve backing, naval reach, nuclear pressure, air projection, defense spending, and a morale proxy. Here is the battle read on how each number lands:

How the Era Toggle Works

The era selector is tied to real statehood and broad military context. A country only gets era options for periods in which that state, kingdom, republic, or recognizable modern predecessor actually existed in a way that makes sense for the simulator. That is why Germany does not offer a 1700s setting, Saudi Arabia does not offer an 1800s setting, and Singapore only appears in late modern eras.

The highlighted peak eras are meant to reflect widely recognizable moments of state power, expansion, industrial strength, or modern force projection. They are not claiming that one country was always stronger than every rival in that century. They simply give the simulator a defensible historical frame so the toggle changes feel grounded instead of arbitrary. You can now answer questions like 'who would win in a battle between the US and China in the 1800s?' or 'how would Brazil and Argentina stack up in a 1700s brawl?'.

Alliance Breakdown

NATO

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization is a collective defense alliance built around Article 5, which treats an attack on one member as an attack on all members. In this simulator, the NATO pool is made up of the member countries currently included in the roster, not every country in the real-world alliance.

This simulator currently includes 13 countries in NATO: United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Turkey, Ukraine, Poland, Italy, Canada, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Greece.

Average simulator profile: HP 5.2, ATK 13.1, DEF 8.2, SPD 12.1, CRIT 12.1, STAM 12.1, and MORALE 51.8.

Current standouts inside this roster: highest HP goes to United States, highest ATK to United States, highest DEF to United States, highest SPD to United States, and highest CRIT to United States.

BRICS

BRICS is a political and economic grouping that began with Brazil, Russia, India, and China, then expanded over time. It is not a military alliance in the NATO sense, but it does represent a bloc of large states with significant population, industrial depth, and strategic weight.

This simulator currently includes 7 countries in BRICS: China, Russia, India, Iran, Pakistan, Brazil, South Africa.

Average simulator profile: HP 36.3, ATK 21.4, DEF 22.7, SPD 16.0, CRIT 15.0, STAM 36.4, and MORALE 34.3.

Current standouts inside this roster: highest HP goes to India, highest ATK to China, highest DEF to Russia, highest SPD to Russia, and highest CRIT to Russia.

EU

The European Union is a political and economic union rather than a single standing military alliance. Here it acts as a roster filter for EU member countries that are present in the simulator, giving players a way to compare European depth, defense balance, and modern force structure.

This simulator currently includes 9 countries in EU: France, Germany, Ukraine, Poland, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Greece.

Average simulator profile: HP 3.3, ATK 5.6, DEF 5.7, SPD 4.3, CRIT 4.2, STAM 8.8, and MORALE 53.9.

Current standouts inside this roster: highest HP goes to Germany, highest ATK to Ukraine, highest DEF to Ukraine, highest SPD to France, and highest CRIT to France.

G7

The Group of Seven is a forum of advanced industrial democracies. It is not a treaty alliance, but it is useful in this simulator because the G7 roster tends to concentrate high defense budgets, advanced equipment, and strong naval and air capability.

This simulator currently includes 7 countries in G7: United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Canada.

Average simulator profile: HP 8.1, ATK 20.6, DEF 8.3, SPD 20.0, CRIT 20.4, STAM 12.7, and MORALE 47.3.

Current standouts inside this roster: highest HP goes to United States, highest ATK to United States, highest DEF to United States, highest SPD to United States, and highest CRIT to United States.

Quad

The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue links the United States, India, Japan, and Australia in an Indo-Pacific strategic framework. It is best understood as a security partnership rather than a formal mutual-defense pact.

This simulator currently includes 3 countries in Quad: India, Japan, Australia.

Average simulator profile: HP 37.0, ATK 15.0, DEF 13.7, SPD 12.0, CRIT 10.7, STAM 23.7, and MORALE 63.0.

Current standouts inside this roster: highest HP goes to India, highest ATK to India, highest DEF to India, highest SPD to India, and highest CRIT to India.

Five Eyes

Five Eyes is an intelligence-sharing partnership built around the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia within this simulator’s roster. It is not a battlefield coalition by charter, but it works well here as a high-coordination preset.

This simulator currently includes 4 countries in Five Eyes: United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada.

Average simulator profile: HP 8.5, ATK 28.2, DEF 13.2, SPD 28.0, CRIT 28.8, STAM 16.2, and MORALE 52.0.

Current standouts inside this roster: highest HP goes to United States, highest ATK to United States, highest DEF to United States, highest SPD to United States, and highest CRIT to United States.

Indo-Pacific

Indo-Pacific is a strategic regional label rather than a single treaty organization. In this simulator it groups countries whose modern security posture is strongly tied to Pacific sea lanes, air reach, and balancing power across East and South Asia.

This simulator currently includes 2 countries in Indo-Pacific: South Korea, Taiwan.

Average simulator profile: HP 3.0, ATK 11.0, DEF 49.5, SPD 9.5, CRIT 8.0, STAM 51.0, and MORALE 81.5.

Current standouts inside this roster: highest HP goes to South Korea, highest ATK to South Korea, highest DEF to South Korea, highest SPD to South Korea, and highest CRIT to South Korea.

East Asia

East Asia is a regional category rather than a unified defense pact. It is included here because several of the simulator’s most militarized states sit in the same neighborhood and are often discussed together in real-world security analysis.

This simulator currently includes 1 country in East Asia: North Korea.

Average simulator profile: HP 2.0, ATK 20.0, DEF 15.0, SPD 11.0, CRIT 9.0, STAM 38.0, and MORALE 32.0.

Current standouts inside this roster: highest HP goes to North Korea, highest ATK to North Korea, highest DEF to North Korea, highest SPD to North Korea, and highest CRIT to North Korea.

Middle East

This preset groups countries from the Middle East that are included in the simulator roster. It is a regional category rather than a single formal treaty structure, and it is meant to support regional matchup building.

This simulator currently includes 6 countries in Middle East: Israel, Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates.

Average simulator profile: HP 4.3, ATK 7.8, DEF 7.8, SPD 6.3, CRIT 5.7, STAM 12.3, and MORALE 43.8.

Current standouts inside this roster: highest HP goes to Egypt, highest ATK to Egypt, highest DEF to Egypt, highest SPD to Turkey, and highest CRIT to Israel.

ASEAN

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations is a regional organization focused on diplomacy, economics, and coordination across Southeast Asia. It is not a unified warfighting bloc, but it provides a useful regional team builder inside the simulator.

This simulator currently includes 4 countries in ASEAN: Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore.

Average simulator profile: HP 8.8, ATK 6.0, DEF 31.2, SPD 4.0, CRIT 2.8, STAM 34.2, and MORALE 52.0.

Current standouts inside this roster: highest HP goes to Indonesia, highest ATK to Vietnam, highest DEF to Vietnam, highest SPD to Vietnam, and highest CRIT to Vietnam.

Africa

This preset groups African countries that are present in the simulator roster. It is a regional bucket, not a military treaty bloc, and it is intended to make regional comparisons easier to run.

This simulator currently includes 3 countries in Africa: Egypt, South Africa, Nigeria.

Average simulator profile: HP 9.7, ATK 5.3, DEF 5.0, SPD 4.3, CRIT 3.3, STAM 9.0, and MORALE 7.0.

Current standouts inside this roster: highest HP goes to Nigeria, highest ATK to Egypt, highest DEF to Egypt, highest SPD to Egypt, and highest CRIT to Egypt.

Americas

This preset groups countries from the Western Hemisphere that are included in the simulator roster. It is a regional category rather than a formal defense alliance, and it helps players build lineups around continental depth.

This simulator currently includes 5 countries in Americas: United States, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Argentina.

Average simulator profile: HP 11.2, ATK 23.8, DEF 16.8, SPD 23.0, CRIT 22.6, STAM 20.0, and MORALE 29.4.

Current standouts inside this roster: highest HP goes to United States, highest ATK to United States, highest DEF to United States, highest SPD to United States, and highest CRIT to United States.

Battle Mechanics

Battles are fought in a best of 3 format, with each team picking 1, 2, or 3 countries to fight. This is a turn based battle system, very similar to Fantasy Brawls, Pokemon, and other classic games. When its your turn, you can pick from a variety of commands to try and outplay your opposing country.

  • Strike: Baic attack, it does decent damage and costs a moderate amount of stamina.
  • Power Play: This is a stronger attack that costs more stamina. If you've got the stamina to spare, it can turn the tide of battle for you.
  • Brace: Reduces damage from the next attack against this country and grants guard for one turn. Guard will prevent your next action from being interrupted by a stun or switch effect.
  • Rally: Boosts your attack for the next turn and restores a small amount of stamina. Think of it like Swords Dance or Howl in Pokemon.
  • Rest: Skip a turn to recover some stamina and HP.
  • Switch: Replace your active country with one from your bench.

Experiment with different team compositioons and strategies to see what combination reigns supreme. If you land on a truly killer team, share it on social media and tag us @FantasyBrawls so we can see your flag flying in action.

Future Updates and Features

PvP will be coming in a future update, so you can battle your friends and other players online. I'm also planning on adding more commands and advance battle mechanics like fusion along with status effects. Another mechanic I have been toying around with is 'warefare mode' this will allow you to select different types of warefare like naval, air, and even cyber. The cyber one is the mode I'm most excited about as it will allow certain smaller, less conventionally power countries to have a real chance in the battle arena. If you have any suggestions for features or improvements, please drop me an email at [email protected] or a DM on Twitter @FantasyBrawls. I'm always looking for ways to make the game more fun and engaging, and I love hearing from the community.
