In this week's edition of Fantasy Brawls, we'll have a monstrous lizard facing off against one of the baddest cats on the planet. The Komodo Dragon will tangle with a mighty Tiger in a fierce battle. So, who do you think will win—the terrifying mammal or the vicious lizard? Let's find out by first seeing who is stronger, a Komodo Dragon or a Tiger.
Komodo dragons are very strong reptiles. Everything from their limbs to jaws to tails allows them to kill effortlessly and ward off rivals. They are impressive dinosaurs, no doubt, but pale in comparison to any kind of tiger, whether Bengal, Siberian, or other. For example, a fully grown tiger is capable of pulling a water buffalo across a forest floor or up a steep incline.
Water buffalo, for context, can weigh up to 1,500 pounds, so dragging one around like my son does his toys is no simple feat. This requires very strong neck and jaw muscles, but if you thought the absurd muscle strength ends for Tigger, you'd be wrong.
Their powerful hind legs enable them to power their massive bodies up to 10 feet vertically or horizontally in the air. This allows for some powerful sneak attacks that are sure to topple even the sturdiest animals. When it comes to muscle strength, the clear winner is the Tiger. But when it comes to speed, which of these animals will reign supreme?
In a foot race, a Tiger would smoke a Komodo Dragon with ease. The latter is relatively fast given its anatomy, clocking a maximum speed of 12 mph over short distances. But tigers, on the other hand, are in a league of their own. They can sprint faster than you can drive in certain residential areas. These big cats can run up to 40 mph and are agile enough to change direction in the blink of an eye.
Both animals are spectacular, but there are few land creatures that can match a tiger's speed and strength. With the Komodo outclassed in two major categories, we'll move on to an area that may tip the scales in the lizard's favor: weapons. As you may know, Komodo dragons bring something very unique for lizards to every battle...nasty poison. But how does this stack up to the tiger's arsenal? Let's find out!
Before we get into which beast has the superior weaponry, I'll lay out what each of these creatures has in their inventory.

When it comes to force, the Komodo is clearly outclassed. Its tail is powerful but doesn't hold a candle to the damage output the tiger has with its forelimbs. The X factor the dragon possesses that the tiger does not is its poisonous saliva. A bite from this animal contains enough poison to kill an animal weighing over 1,000 pounds. But is this enough to kill a tiger?
Given that Komodo dragon venom can kill much larger animals than tigers, it stands to reason that the big cat would likely succumb to the poison as well. Tigers eat all kinds of gross, raw flesh, so they do have a fairly tough immune system, but they are far from invincible. Though it has never been documented, Komodo dragon venom can kill a tiger if given enough time.
With their weapons, strength, and speed examined, it's time to move our combatants into the battle area. Let's find out what happens when a big, bad Komodo Dragon tangles with the largest cat in the world. But, instead of describing what's taking place in the fight, I'll be showing it to you courtesy of Open AI's Sora video maker.
The tiger starts the fight by attempting an ambush on the Komodo. It dodges this and lands a nasty bite on the tiger's leg. This hurts the cat, but it'll be some days before the poison has any real impact on the 600-pound monster. The tiger then recoils and lands a decisive bite on the back of the Komodo's neck, ending the battle...but it isn't over yet.
The Komodo lost the battle, but the tiger's victory was short-lived. That nasty, bacteria-filled bite took its toll on the tiger's body as the days after the battle progressed. This resulted in the striped menace falling to the Komodo in the end, but not before it could win this week's Fantasy Brawl.
In this brawl the tiger came out on top. It was just too strong and agile for the Komodo to overcome. The dragon's special ability, its venomous bite was not fast acting enough to cause any immediate damage to the tiger.
